Abstract
Sanatorium is an important and obligatory stage of TB patients’ treatment. Sanatoria depending on their activity and contingent should be divided as rehabilitation, preventive or mixed rehabilitation- preventive groups. The sanatorium mixed orientation for pulmonary TB patients does not mean that patients on continuation phase of treatment and healthy persons from risk groups stay at the sanatorium at one and the same time, but implies that sanatorium regiments are altered by seasons. The basic purpose of rehabilitation sanatoria is the TB patients’ treatment on continuation phase after TB stationary ward, including hi-tech medical TB treatment. Patients should be referred such sanatoria irrespective of the TB initial clinical form and localization only after the intensive phase of the basic treatment course is finished for directly observed treatment continuation phase. Patients can also be directed to a rehabilitation sanatorium after surgery for TB of various locations. In preventive TB sanatoria cured persons who completed full treatment course and persons from risk groups (contacts including professional contact) are treated.
