Abstract
Peripheral mononuclear cells’ secreting activity in pa- tients with different development of fibro-cavernous tuberculosis was studied. IFN-?, IL-2, TNF-?, IL-8, IL-4, IL-10 production levels were assayed. Cytokine production misbalance was observed in all patients with fibro-cav- ernous tuberculosis was observed. The disfunction level magnitude correlated with severity of the process. Cy- tokine secretion induced by different inductors differed. In case of acute progressing fibro-cavernous tuberculosis suppression of synthetic abilities of lymphocytes’ specific clones was observed.Pronounced decrease of cytokines production, including IL-10, in response to tuberculin induction is specific to more generalized progressing cases. Tuberculin induced cytokines production levels were most informative in evaluation of the process malignancy and clinical course prognosis.Cells’ secreting malfunction and changes in cytokines balance reflect the state of immune competent cells, development of the pathologic process. Their timely as- sessment and corrections of chemotherapy may improve treatment results.
