Organization of tuberculosis case-finding among migrant workers in Saint-Petersburg

Abstract

Experiences in TB case finding organization among migrant workers in Saint-Petersburg are described. Increased overboard migration flows in Russia, especially in such megalopolises as Moscow and Saint-Petersburg in the last few years are observed. Increased rate of TB incidence among migrants compared to local population is demonstrated in Russia as a whole, as well as in Saint- Petersburg. The programme of active TB case finding among migrants aimed to decrease epidemic hazard of these groups has been developed in Saint-Petersburg and is presented in the article.
