Abstract
Systemization of modern methodical capacities and goals for TB laboratories is presented. Implementation of the new regiment of treatment and diagnosis in a medical facility should start with achieving clinical-laboratory consensus on spectrum and number laboratory tests needed by clinicians, considering major principles of the Concept of etiological diagnosis: 1) shortest turn-over time; 2) accessibility of the test to a patient notwithstanding geography of his/her place of living or social status; 3) high quality, economic efficiency and biosafety of laboratory tests. As a result of this consensus a set of laboratory methods of etiological diagnosis applicable for a particular medical facility depending of their laboratory equipment available would be agreed. Economic analysis would help to decide on reasonability of autsourcing for some of the tests - transfer them to other laboratory (-ries) with higher capacities.
