Spondylitis caused by mycobacterium marinum in adolescent (case report with a 2-years post-op follow up)

Abstract

Non-tuberculosis mycobacterium (non-TB Mb, NTMB or Mycobacterium non-included into M. tuberculosis complex ) for a long time called as «atypical mycobacterium» (in contract to M. tuberculosis ) or «enviromental mycobaсteria». The increased number of cases registered during few years, especially after 2000, but only few countries has corresponding register. The counted frequency of non-TB Mb infection floated between 1,1-1,8 per 100 000 popu- lation. The peculiarity of our patient was the age and location of discussed disease.
