Abstract
The growing popularity of tissue engineering in relation to urological pathology is covered in the literature rather scantily. This article is devoted to a review of the world's leading trends in the field of reconstructive surgery of the urethra using tissue engineering designs. It describes in detail the main properties of tissue engineering designs, a variety of matrices and cells used in tissue engineering for urethroplasty, emphasis is done on studies on tissue engineering reconstruction of the urethra. The problems and prospects of this scientific direction are reflected. Keywords: tissue engineering construct, urethra, urethral stricture, biodegradable polymers, poly(e-caprolacton), mesenchimal stem cells of bone marrow
