Abstract
By the study results it is established that the health and social problems of the indigenous people of the North (IPN) were and remain relevant currently. Many studies are devoted to this problem. In our article we will consider mentioned problem in the context of the sociological study conducted by the staff of Ob-Ugriс Institute of applied researches and development in 2016 in the Surgut region of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra. The factors influencing health of local population are considered social (including ecological and economic) issues. The study results is established due to industrial mining ecological condition of the region (area) where indigenous people are living is worsening. Most of respondents estimate an ecological condition of the area as unsatisfactory. It is also revealed that health of local population is influenced more by the following problems; the polluted air, the soil, waters, low quality of medical care of the population, alcoholism and alcoholism among the population, bad quality of water and poor quality of food.
