Abstract
The study estimates the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the Krasnoyarsk region in comparison with the Russian Federation; the prevalence of smoking among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis was studied; the costs of the health system of the Krasnoyarsk region are analyzed on the basis of medical and economic standards related to outpatient visits and hospitalization of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. To collect information, the author's questionnaire was developed. 640 patients of nine antituberculosis institutions of the Krasnoyarsk region were subjected to a thorough examination. Statistical processing of data was carried out using a licensed package of MS Excel programs. The relative and attributive risks of developing tuberculosis in smoking have been calculated. It was revealed that smoking in the Krasnoyarsk region led to the development of pulmonary tuberculosis in 52.8% of cases, hospitalization costs for the year were 254 million 260 thousand rubles, for outpatient care - 165 million 741 thousand rubles. For hospitalization and outpatient care for the year amounted to 420 million 001 thousand rubles. The total health care costs associated with smoking with tuberculosis amounted to 221 million 760 thousand rubles. The results of the research showed that for successful treatment of tuberculosis it is necessary to exclude such a powerful source of harmful effects on the lungs and the body as a whole, like smoking. In this regard, phthisiatricians should actively identify smokers, be able to motivate them to give up tobacco, provide medical care and support in the patient's full capacity.
